About the game.

Field of Arms: Tactics is a strategy game set in the 18th century Caribbean, recreating clashes between the empires of the time for control of trading routes, enterprises and territories.

With a unique board game aesthetic, players will have to manage time, resources and armies via three seamlessly integrated game layers; a strategic overworld view of the Caribbean for logistics; a city building scape for production and training of units; a tactical map to defend or attack strongholds in sieges and deploy and maneuver units during tense battles.

OVERWORLD (STRATEGIC LAYER)

In this mode, players start with one capital city and they will have to explore to find resources, construct buildings to extract them, in order to further improve their city. This economic layer is built around the relation of resources and production.

Players will have to battle against enemy empires competing for these resources and cities, they will also have to deal with both natives and maroon (escaped slaves) encampments, pirates who roam the map will routinely try to sack player-built structures and cities.

CITY BUILDING (MANAGEMENT LAYER)

In this mode, players will plan and build a new world city, deciding in which economic activities to focus and what types of workshops to construct, giving them access to different units, manufactured goods and bonuses.

Taxes and upkeep play an important role in the game, so the player will have to decide how to best spend their available resources.

BATTLES (TACTICAL LAYER):

Battles will take place in separate battlefields in real time battles with a tactical pause system, where every move and action counts, the player will need to be aware of each of their unit’s defensive and offensive capabilities, and also the type of terrain they are standing on.

Windows :-(

Promising, enjoy playing it. Thanks for the sale.

For a few qol. improvements, may I suggest:

- optional map scrolling speed. Map scroll is a bit slow now

- optional mouse cursor gfx. The sword is nice, but I would like to have a normal arrow when playing.

- Sail status of ships: I now do not know if the ships are sailing with full sail or battle sail.

- Orders given: would be nice to show if a order has already been given to a unit.

Thanks again!

Thank you for buying the game and for the very valuable feedback, we will certainly take it all into account! we are looking into how to better show the player the status of the sails and orders. We are thrilled that you enjoyed playing it!

Looks very interesting, so bought and downloaded. The installer adds assorted things to my system. When I try to run it, I get a "DX11 feature level 10.0 is required to run the engine" error message.

From DXDiag:

..
DirectX Version: DirectX 12
..

DDI Version: 10.1
Feature Levels: 10_1,10_0,9_3,9_2,9_1
..

Doesn't that mean I have it? What's it actually wanting?

Thanks...

Hello, Thank you for buying our game! Unreal Engine 4 games install the prerequisites in order to be able to run the game. If anything is missing you can try installing manually from \Engine\Extras\Redist\en-us folder.

What graphics card are you using?

You can run dxdiag and in the "display" tab you can check the "drivers" section and see if your graphics card supports DX11 in the "feature levels" area.

Can you try upgrading your Drivers?

Let us know how it goes!

See above :) It's DirectX 12, with features level 10_1,10_0,9_3,9_2,9_1.

It's a VMware virtual machine. I don't run random programs on a real one unless I have to, and this seems to cope with everything else, but I am not sure I have anything else on it using the Unreal Engine. (Unity, yes, Unreal, not sure.)

We looked into your issue but sadly we couldn't find a solution, it's difficult to do troubleshooting since we don't have the proper system to test on. There's not much info on how to run Unreal games through a virtual machine as programs that are intensive 3D software usually aren’t supported well in VM.
